IRS requires two copies of schedule 1. This should to be properly filled and submitted to the IRS along with the filled in copy of the Form 2290 while filing. The IRS will stamp one duplicate and return the other copy to you for use as acknowledgment of payment when enrolling vehicle(s) with a state. After e-filing the Form 2290 along with the schedule of Heavy Highway vehicles, IRS will digitally watermark one of the schedule 1 and that will be return back to be used as an acknowledgment of HVUT payment.
